The seed vault will open with monster seeds. Monster seeds are, as the name suggests, seeds that are inspired by creatures in TTRPGs. They are seeds that emphasize a particular creature. Some of the monster seeds on this site will include multiple creatures within the seed. Some will not include the actual creature at all (e.g., the basilisk listing might focus on a potion using basilisk blood).
The current plan is to create three encounter seeds, two serious adventure seeds, and one ridiculous adventure seed for each monster in the Shadowdark Core Rules and each monster in the Dungeons and Dragons System Reference Document v5.2.1. There are a lot of monsters across both sources, but at least some are repeated. You can read more about how I am distinguishing between encounter seeds and adventure seeds here.
The focus in the seeds will not be on mechanics. Rather, it will be on idea generation and thinking about where you might go with your own encounter or adventure.
When I started working on this, I found that I was far from the first person to consider the idea. In fact, the Daily Beastiary already has three seeds for each of hundreds of Pathfinder monsters. While it appears the project is no longer active, the author did a fantastic job. I cannot and will not compete, and I encourage you to check it out!
